From Calibration Lab to Fitting Bench
Before this bench existed, our founder spent nine years calibrating torque wrenches and mass-measurement instruments for manufacturers around Boulder — a town built, in no small part, on the business of making sure numbers can be trusted. That job taught one habit that carried straight over into club fitting: never accept a spec sheet at face value when you can put the part on a scale yourself.
MOI Fit Golf opened in 2016 after one too many customer sets came back from other shops "matched" on swing weight and still felt like a different club in every hand. The fix wasn't a better swing-weight scale. It was a different measurement entirely — one that describes how a club actually resists twisting through the hitting zone, not how it balances on a fulcrum sitting still.
