What People Ask Before They Book
Straight answers to the questions that come up most before a first visit to the bench.
Do I need to be a low handicap to get anything out of this?
No — if anything, it's the opposite. Golfers with slower or steeper swings tend to see the biggest jump, because rack clubs are built around swing profiles most recreational players don't actually have. A mismatched set punishes an inconsistent swing more than a dialed-in one.
How long does a session run?
Single-club sessions — driver, fairway wood, hybrid, wedge, or putter — run 45 to 60 minutes. A full iron set fitting runs 60 to 90 minutes. A complete bag assessment covering every club typically takes 2 to 3 hours.
Am I obligated to buy clubs after a session?
Never. You leave with a printed readout of every number we recorded whether you order that day or not at all. If you do order, your session fee is credited in full against the build.
What is MOI matching, in plain terms?
It's a way of measuring how much a club resists twisting when it's swung, rather than how it balances while sitting still. We use it to build sets where every club fights your hands the same amount, instead of getting progressively heavier or lighter feeling club to club.
Isn't MOI matching just swing weight with extra steps?
They're related but not the same measurement. Two clubs can carry the exact same swing-weight letter and still measure noticeably different rotational resistance, especially once shaft length changes across a full set. We check both, but rotational resistance is what determines the final build spec.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Bring the clubs relevant to your fitting, the shoes you'd normally wear on the course, and a rough sense of your typical scoring average if you have one handy.
Do you fit left-handed players?
Yes. Left-handed demo heads are stocked across every major category, and the monitor and scale work identically regardless of which way you swing.
Can I get fit if I already like my current clubs?
Plenty of clients come in just to verify their current set's numbers rather than to buy anything new. It's common to find one or two outliers in an otherwise solid bag.
How soon can I pick up a finished build?
Most orders are built and re-verified on the bench scale within a week, since parts are stocked on site rather than routed through an outside build queue.
What areas do you usually see clients from?
The bench sits in Boulder, and most clients come from around the city and the surrounding Front Range communities.
