Putter Fitting

The putter gets more strokes per round than any other club and less fitting attention than almost any other club. We treat it with the same rigor as a driver session.

What We Capture

Your Stroke Sets the Spec, Not the Store Rack

A dedicated putting capture system records stroke path, face angle at impact, and tempo across a series of putts at different lengths. From there we know whether a face-balanced or toe-hang head suits your natural stroke shape, rather than guessing from feel alone.

We also put putter heads on the reference scale, since head inertia changes how a putter resists twisting on an off-center strike — a bigger factor on lag putts than most golfers assume, given how often contact happens slightly off the sweet spot on longer rolls.

What We Adjust During a Putter Session

Head Style

Toe-hang heads generally suit an arcing stroke; face-balanced heads generally suit a straight-back-straight-through stroke. We confirm which one you actually have on the capture system rather than assuming from your current putter.

Length & Lie

Length and lie angle are set together based on your eye position and posture at address, not chosen off a standard 34- or 35-inch default.

Head Rotational Resistance

Higher-resistance heads resist twisting more on off-center hits, which shows up as more consistent distance control on lag putts specifically.

Loft

Standard putter loft assumes a certain amount of forward shaft lean at impact. Players who present the putter differently at contact often need a different static loft than what came stock.

Grip Style

Grip shape and size influence how much the hands can rotate the face through the stroke, independent of everything else in the fitting.

Counterweighting

Adding mass to the grip end changes swing feel and can smooth tempo for players with a fast, handsy stroke, tested here rather than assumed.

Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes on the putting rig, with a printed readout of your stroke data to take home.
